Are there TWO Evergreen Communities in Calgary?!
The city of Calgary presents Evergreen on a map as a single community, but we are recognized as two separate communities with the following distinct community associations:
- Shawnee/Evergreen Community Association (SECA)
- Calgary Evergreen Community Association (CECA).
The original community of Evergreen Estates was a much more established area, with houses constructed in the early 90’s. They felt a newer developing community's concerns would be greatly different from those of an established community. Hence, we now have the two separate community associations.
So who belongs where? It is simple!
Anyone living on a street called EVERGREEN (i.e. EVERGREEN Street, Road, Way, Blvd, Terrace, Hill, Park, Common, Heights, Drive, Mews, and so forth) is in the SECA. Everyone else is under the jurisdiction of the CECA.
